Director: Rob Cohen

Synopsis: The high-flying dventures of Sinbad and his crew, who are marooned off the coast of China in the 8th century. Once ashore, they embark on a quest for the Lamp of Aladdin, teaming up with an empress to battle fantastical creatures and a rebellious Chinese general.
UPDATE: "The studio pulled the plug on "The 8th Voyage of Sinbad," a planned expensive spectacle that was to pair "Matrix" star Keanu Reeves with director Cohen. While Cohen's "The Fast and the Furious" and the first "XXX" movie were global smashes, his $135-million "Stealth" was a summer flop, grossing just $32.1 million in domestic theaters and generating a Sony loss of almost $50 million."

Air Bud : Aussie Rules
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: Another sequel in the K-9-plays-Ball series “Air Bud” is on the way – and this time, our salivating friend is joined by a roo. Now in development, “Air Bud : Aussie Rules”, again features the character of Andrea Framm, the original lead’s (Kevin Zegers) sister. Framm is starting senior high, and has a bad case of the jitters. Then she meets Rod Palmer, a handsome exchange student and star rugby player from Down Under. Andrea knows nothing about rugby, but signs up for the school team hoping to get Rod's attention. When Andrea displays less than stellar performance on the field, Buddy the dog comes to the rescue. Practice makes perfect, and soon Andrea is scoring points like a pro. In recognition of her newfound skill, Coach Palmer gives her the most sought-after position on the squad. But all Andrea's efforts to get his son to notice her have backfired - now Rod resents her for taking the position he thought was his!
Meanwhile Andrea's younger brother Noah is taking karate lessons from a wise old Sensei at the local dojo. Air Bud tags along, and impresses Master Ho with his Zen-like approach to the martial arts. Soon all the students are doing the "Air Bud kata"! When Andrea's best friend Connor is sidelined by an injury, things look desperate for the Timberwolves… until Buddy shows them that he knows his way around a rugby pitch! Coach Palmer's team embarks on a winning streak that catches the eye of his arch nemesis, Coach Ermey of the champion Australian junior team. Nursing a bitter rivalry that goes back years, Ermey challenges Palmer to an exhibition game. The prize? Tickets to the Rugby World Cup in Sydney.
But Ermey isn't about to leave victory to chance. Determined to find an equaliser to Fernfield's M.V.P. Air Bud, he recruits the unlikliest ringer of all - a rugby-playing kangaroo! With just hours left before the big game, the unthinkable happens - Air Bud disappears. It's up to Noah and the other karate kids to get Buddy to the field on time for the most outrageous athletic matchup of the year! (Not my words - theirs).

Alien VS Predator 2: Servival Of The Fittest
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: There’s going to be another Alien vs Predator film. Ahem. Yes, you read that correctly. The word has come from the co-big cheese at Fox, Tom Rothman, that “We will do another one for sure. It was a big success.” And financially, speaking, we can’t argue. “"In the new Alien vs. Predator they will finally actually really come to our world" said Rothman. The thread we are clinging to from this statement, though, is not what was said – but rather what wasn’t. Paul W.S. Anderson’s name wasn’t mentioned. Say no more. But never say never – provided the script is any good, the idea of the two beasts running around terrorising a contemporary urban environment does sound tasty – it was after all, the best feature of Predator 2.
UPDATE: At the premiere of Big Momma's House 2, we caught up with Fox studio head, Tom Rothman, who took a few minutes to talk to us about the X-Men 3 movie review that hit the web earlier this week. We also touched up on a few other Fox projects including X-Men spin offs, Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four 2 and AvP 2.
IESB: Alien VS Predator 2, any development there?
Tom Rothman: Yeah, uh, Hutch would know actually better but I think they just got the script, they just got the script in...we are making that movie, it's gonna be kick ass (smiles).
IESB: How soon?
Tom Rothman: We're hoping for August of 2007 release. That's what we hope.
UPDATE 2: AvP2 will begin shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia on September 23 and wrap December 14, Fango has learned. AVP’s Tom Woodruff Jr. and Alec Gillis of Amalgamated Dynamics, veterans of the first AVP (pictured) and all the previous ALIEN sequels, will encore on the creature FX. The Shane Salerno script places the battling extraterrestrials on U.S. soil (the Midwest); FX pros Colin and Greg Strauss make their feature directorial debuts on the December 21, 2007 Fox release.

Cast: Ice Cube, Nia Long (Talks)
Director: Steve Carr
Studio: The Revolution
Synopsis: The Revolution Studios remake of the Cary Grant comedy Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House is getting an extreme makeover, reports Variety. The film is now the sequel to Are We There Yet? Ice Cube remains the star and Steve Carr the director, but when production begins in Vancouver in June, the comedy will be titled Are We Done Yet? The trade says the studio is moving quickly to lock in deals with Nia Long, who played the single mom and Cube's love interest in the original, and Aleisha Allen and Philip Bolden, the adolescents who accompanied Cube's kid-phobic character on a hellish road trip. The sequel picks up the quartet when they move from the big city to the suburbs for an idyllic life. A house renovation leads to chaos, particularly when the contractor who clashes with Cube bonds with his wife and the two kids. Hank Nelken's "Blandings" redo script is being retrofitted into a sequel by David Stem and David Weiss, writers of the original. Gone from "Blandi

Bad Boys 3
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: Yerry ‘Moneybags’ Bruckheimer tells ComingSoon.net that he’s keen on punishing us again with another “Bad Boys” film. Despite the battering the over bloated mess “Bad Boys 2” got from both the critics and the public, the uber- producer says he’ll gladly do a “Bad Boys 3” if Sony ask for it. "I'd do it in a second”, he said. Martin Lawrence (and Joe Pantoliano, who told Moviehole a while back that he’d jump at the chance to come back) is definitely free, but it might take a few cream cookies to entice Will Smith to suit up again.
Next though, says Bruckheimer, is a sequel to Nicolas Cage starrer “National Treasure”. “For 'National Treasure', we came up with a wonderful idea, a true incident in American history that's a wonderful jumping off point for 'National Treasure 2,' and Nick [Cage] is excited about doing the movie. He likes the idea of what we're pursuing, so hopefully, we'll get that done towards the end of the year."

Bean 2
|
Cast: Rowan Atkinson
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: According to Variety, there's some interesting news for those people who don't exactly consider Bean as the artistic pinnacle of recent British cinema. Rowan Atkinson has teamed up with Simon McBurney, the actor-director behind innovative legit troupe Theatre de Complicite, to develop Bean 2, which is likely to shoot later this year. Complicite has a rep for groundbreaking physical theater that combines highbrow themes with comedic elements. It recently enjoyed a sell-out revival at the National Theater of its early work "A Minute Too Late," which draws heavily on mime, slapstick and Buster Keatonesque gags. Atkinson, of course, is the king of physical comedy, particularly in the near silent role of the destructively insensitive Mr. Bean, contorting his rubbery features and spindly limbs to huge box office effect. The decision to work with McBurney indicates a desire on the part of Atkinson, co-writer Robin Driscoll and producer Working Title to bring a whole new dimension to the lucrative Bean franchise

Bodyguard 2, The
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: According to Kevin 'I don't like sequels' Costner, that proposed sequel to "The Bodyguard" is still something he's keen to do one day - but Whitney Houston need not wait by the phone. "Ideally, it would be great to get someone like Jessica Simpson on board to take the story to the next level", he tells OK! Magazine. Costner has already written the script for the sequel - which at one time he envisioned as a potential vehicle for the late Princess Diana - so it's possible we'll hear something official - like it or loathe it - on this soon. In the original script for the sequel, Princess Diana was going to play Julia, a woman working in Hong Kong for the release of political prisoners. Costner's character, the professional bodyguard who protected a singer in the first film, guards Julia and eventually falls in love with her. No word on whether Simpson - or whatever young hottie he ropes into co-starring - would play Julia or another character.

Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: "They [the studio] definitely want one now. It's a great place to be in, because now we can kind of just sit back and listen to people's different ideas on what the third one should be. And if there is a third one....I'm going to have to do it. Paul Greengrass is keen to helm the next chapter. He and I talked about it and he's open to the idea. The one fear with this movie [Supremacy] is that the director has such success that they get offered everything under the sun and want have time to come back and do the next sequel".
UPDATE:
Work on the "Indiana Jones" film will commence as soon as the third and final Jason Bourne film, "The Bourne Ultimatum", still starring Matt Damon, is done. As was the case in the second chapter in the saga of the amnesiac agent on the run, "The Bourne Supremacy", "The Bourne Ultimatum" will have little or no plot relation with the novel of the same name by Robert Ludlum.

Britney Allen (Hayden Panettiere) is living the dream -- the cheerleader's dream. At the elite seaside campus of Pacific Vista High School, Britney is captain of the cheerleading squad and the envy of everyone at school -- including one overly-ambitious teammate. When Britney hears about a forthcoming audition for a top cheer squad to appear in recording star Rihanna's upcoming television special, she is determined that her Pirates cheer squad will capture the coveted spot. But Britney's life turns from cheer-topia to cheer-tastrophe when her father's job takes her family to Crenshaw Heights, a multi-ethnic working-class neighborhood east of Los Angeles. At her new school, Britney is viewed with suspicion by most of the students, especially by Camille (Solange Knowles Smith), the overly confident and acerbic leader of the Crenshaw Heights Warriors cheerleading squad. No one is more surprised than Camille, however, when Britney proves herself and secures a spot on the Warriors' cheer squad. Britney and her new teammates work feverishly to prepare for the audition for Rihanna, incorporating some edgy new moves into their performance. Now the pressure is on, as the Warriors find themselves locked in a high-stakes cheer-off with Pacific Vista, Britney's old school! Synopsis: This movie will be a prequel to 2003's Bubba Ho-Tep, depicting Elvis Presley's earlier adventures before he ended up in an elderly citizen's home in west Texas. This project's title was first revealed in the end credits of Bubba Ho-Tep, and then elaborated upon in February, 2003 during a Q & A with star Bruce Campbell and director Don Coscarelli. At the same event, they also revealed that a third movie may be called 'Bubba Sasquatch' and depict Elvis Presley adventures in the north woods, helping someone fight off a pack of bloodthirsty Bigfoots (Bigfeet?). Set in the late 1960s, soon after Elvis Presley starred in Clambake, this movie will present the comedy/horror adventures of the King of Rock and Roll when he was in his early 30s (rather than the senior citizen version that starred in Bubba Ho-Tep). Looking to get away from movie sets, Elvis heads down to New Orleans looking for a good time, and encounters usage of black magic, voodoo and (presuming from the title)... she-vampires. Candyman 4
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: I've been meeting with Clive, his representatives, and the production team. I know their was a rumor when the whole "Freddy vs. Jason" film came out that Miramax wanted to do a "Candyman vs. Hellraiser". I think Clive wisely opted against that. He didn't want either of those 2 characters to sell out for a commercial gain. He is very strongly interested in "CANDYMAN 4". That problem that is going on much like many backstage workings, is determining who owns the "CANDYMAN" franchise. Which is strange to me because it's Clive's Character? But in dividing the first "CANDYMAN's" profits, the ownership went from Propaganda, to Sony, to Columbia, then to Artisan. Then Artisan became Lions Gate. As soon as it's all straightened out and it's determined who has to be paid before the film even gets written, then the movie will move forward. But he has every intension and knows how much these fans really appreciate a true horror classic. We've been in active discussion about doing it. I know it will take place in New England. It will take place in a woman's college. I know we're going to use the seasonal elements such as snow. We're just waiting for the Go-Ahead to move forward. Hopefully it will be shot sometime next year. We're not gonna let it go. And if for some reason we can't get the character back from the powers that be, then we're going to re-create it. One way or another, Clive and I will be working together again. I can absolutely assure the fans of that."
UPDATE:
Actor Tony Todd recently spoke with Fango about his upcoming projects, where he revealed how the new Candyman movie is rumored to be a versus film.

Synopsis: Casino Royale introduces James Bond before he holds his licence to kill. But Bond is no less dangerous, and with two professional assassinations in quick succession, he is elevated to '00' status. Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Madagascar where he is to spy on a terrorist, Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan). Not everything goes to plan and Bond decides to investigate, independently of MI6, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) and his girlfriend, Solange (Caterina Murino). He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organisation. 'M' (Judi Dench) places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) MI6's local field agent, and Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) who is representing the interests of the CIA. The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax.

Chronicles of Riddick 2, The
|
Cast: Vin Diesal
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: Vin Diesel and David Twohy are showing interest in making another movie. Even though Riddick didn't make any money in theatres. Here is what Diesel had to say in an interview with Empire Online. "From the very very beginning, when everyone thought it was crazy, I was thinking of The Chronicles of Riddick as a trilogy," said Diesel. "That would start with the movie you saw, and Pitch Black would act as a prequel that introduced you to the character. So in simple terms, in Chronicles 2 we venture to the Underverse. We knew we could get away with a PG-13 on the first one, but once you go to the Underverse it's rated R, because it's a place where war is the norm and there is constant, constant battling. Then on Chronicles 3 we will see Riddick return to Furia, to deal with the homeland."
UPDATE: After Hannibal, Diesel plans on returning to the science-fiction trilogy that he visited this past summer with Chronicles of Riddick.
Of this film he says, "Riddick? Well, you know that I've always had C2 planned," he conceded. "I'm silently — and I shouldn't even say this — I'm silently working on C2 with some of the outlines that were created when I first thought of doing the three films."

Synopsis: Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee has spoken out about his plans to revisit his hit 2000 action movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Lee told Movies on MTV.com that a follow-up is by no means guaranteed, explaining: "It would be a prequel, if it happens." He insists that the idea, currently in the stages of pre-production, will not go ahead unless the director is suitably inspired by a storyline, explaining that so far "I haven't found a new passion equivalent to the first one." Dick Tracy 2
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: Warren Beatty has sued newspaper publisher Tribune Co., claiming he still has film rights to Dick Tracy and has plans for a second "Dick Tracy" film in the works reports Variety. Beatty, who starred in and directed the 1990 film "Dick Tracy," is seeking a ruling that he still owns film and other rights, plus $30 million in damages. The damage figure presumably is based on the profit Beatty expects to see from a sequel. In making the 1990 "Dick Tracy" film with Disney, Beatty transferred most of his rights to Disney but kept the right to produce a project if Tribune sent out a forfeiture notice. According to the suit, Tribune asked Disney informally to relinquish its rights in 2002. In 2004 Tribune unilaterally claimed the rights had reverted without giving Beatty any notice. This year, Disney reassigned most of its rights to Beatty. The suit claims Beatty intends to make a second Dick Tracy film.

Ei8ht (Se7en 2)
|
Cast: Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman?
Director: David Fincher
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: t’s not every day that JoBlo.com gets to break a huge scoop like this one, but after weeks of trying to get confirmations and finally getting someone from the set of this secret film to get in touch with us (but only if we promised them full anonymity, of course), we can tell you that SE7EN, THE GAME, FIGHT CLUB and PANIC ROOM director David Fincher is currently shooting a sequel to his first major hit from 1995, SE7EN, starring the same two men from the original, Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, in what is tentatively known on the set as EI8HT. Our source from the set, who asked to be called ‘Jimmy Doe’, told us that every single person working on the film had to sign NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) so that the project would be as secretive as possible (which let’s admit it, in the days of the Internet is virtually impossible). That said, we can tell you that the follow-up to SE7EN has apparently been shooting in L.A. for about a week now, and is expected to last another five weeks, with two weeks scheduled in New York as well. The studio has tentatively penciled the film in for a December 2005 release. Nobody working on the crew has read the script, but here’s the basic synopsis that many of them have been given:
“Three years after the events in SE7EN, detective Mills (Pitt) is in a mental ward and discovers an eight ‘sin’ while reading through John Doe’s rambling notes. Mills contacts detective Somerset (Freeman) and asks him to investigate the matter, opening up a whole new underbelly of murders that had yet to be uncovered. Mills is released from the ward to work with Somerset on the case, but it isn’t long before Mills himself is suspected of either collaborating or being the source of the bizarre killings himself.”

Elektra 2
|
Cast: N/A
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: Elektra director Rob Bowman tells IGN FilmForce that he’s keen to make a sequel to “Elektra” but only if it’s "all-out action," "ass-kickin'" and "R-rated". Thing is, does Marvel even get a polly waffle about that franchise? "I don't know if it will happen. It's up to them to decide," says Bowman. "I think they would at least listen to it." The comic-book character was always intended to form the frame of an ultra-violent R rated movie, says Bowman, not a chicken-shit G rated crapfest. "Because, really, she's an R-rated character. I mean, it's even worse in some of the comic books. The shelves are stacked with very, very aggressive, very sexy Elektra comic books. It is what it is. It's like, sex and murder, that's her thing." The sequel would pick up at the very end of “Elektra”, where our heroine exits the house. She's changed a girl's life for the better, and has learned to be more compassionate. However, "That's no different than actually just stepping out of rehab. It's no different than coming out of the hospital with a cast on your arm.
Then, "She goes on a hit. She makes the hit, but it's built-in with a fatal flaw which is: innocent people die at hands of Elektra. Except, she didn't know they were innocent people. It's a scheme by The Hand to tear her apart and turn her towards the dark side, and bring them back to her once and for all. And then you have an hour and a half of Elektra struggling with 'What is compassion about?' And meanwhile, it's an all-out action, ass-kicking, R-rated movie! I mean, that's what you do. You would basically let Jennifer deal with rage and vengeance and revenge in the whole movie. That's what she really is." If Jennifer Garner called Bowman and asked him to do it tomorrow – then he would. "If she said to me, 'Go with God and all my blessings,' then I would make it, because there's a lot more story to tell there." And what would Frank Miller have to say about an Elektra sequel? "Probably 'Stay closer to the comic book.' And I would say, 'I will, Frank, as long as they let me make an R-rated version of it.' Because that's what it should be."

Evil Dead 4
|
Cast: Bruce Campbell (talks)
Director: Sam Raimi (talks)
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: When news hailed from the trades last month that Sam Raimi had given the go-ahead to an “Evil Dead” remake, we assumed it put a stake, once and for all, through any hopes of an “Evil Dead 4”. Predominatly, one that bought back Bruce Campbell as Ash. Guess again. Raimi tells Zap2it.com, “Evil Dead 4” is still on the cards, despite the looming redo. "I definitely want to do it and I think after -- whenever the Spider-Man jobs end -- I would love to dig in on that," Raimi says. "That's something I'm really looking forward to." According to the website, Raimi won’t be directing the remake of “Evil Dead” (that'll be helmed by, and probably star, someone else other than Campbell), he’s saving his vision for an “Evil Dead 4”, which he'll do after putting Peter Parker to bed.
UPDATE: In regards to 'Evil Dead 4 Raimi says, "There will be an Evil Dead 4, and there will ALSO be an Evil Dead Remake. The remake will be produced by Ghost House pictures, (his company with Tapert) and it will star a new cast and a completely new director. The point of Ghost House is that we want to bring new directors (like Takashi Shimizu of "the Grudge" to Hollywood and give them a chnace to make a good horror film."
UPDATE 2: Marsdust had a recent interview with Ted Raimi this past november. Heres what he had to say about Evil Dead 4...
Mars Dust: Anything about the remake? Evil Dead 4?
Ted Raimi: Yes, I have this to say about it: there won’t be one as far as I know. That’s all I know. I mean there might be, there might be one but as far as I can tell there isn’t. Nothing’s going on with it at the moment.

Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer
|
Cast: Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evens, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon
Director: Tim Story
Studio: 20 Century Fox
Synopsis: The one thing that was on everybody's lips – especially given the extraordinary performance at the box office, was sequels. And if Gruffudd's words are a indication, it's all looking very good: "We've signed for two and three already, and it looks more than likely that we'll be shooting them even as early as next year." "The good thing is it won't be an origin picture," said Chiklis, "So we can go right into storytelling, and depending on which villain we decide to go with, and which way we decide to go, we can get right into the crux of the story immediately." Meanwhile, Ms Alba had her mind on more matters maternal "Tim put secrets in this movie that he's going to reveal in the next one, and I think we have to get the Fantasticar – that'd be cool… and I think we need some kids, at least by the third one, so Reed and Sue should get busy!" .
UPDATE: Fox has greenlit "Fantastic Four 2", set for release July 4, 2007.
Actors Ioan Gruffudd ('Mr. Fantastic'), Jessica Alba ('Invisible Woman'), Chris Evans ('Human Torch') and Michael Chiklis ('Thing') will return to reprise their roles.
Director Tim "Barber Shop" Story will return to helm the film, as the first "Fantastic Four" feature grossed a worldwide box office of $320 million, due in part to VFX produced by Canadian production companies.
"Fantastic Four" the movie filmed in Vancouver, BC.
"We tried to do something different than the brooding, dark setting you usually get in superhero films," Story said.
"The key to that movie was how to play with a comedic tone and the action and have it feel respectable to the genre ... now that everyone's been introduced, you can just get right to it. That's why so many superhero sequels improve on the original."
UPDATE 2: Fantastic Four director Tim Story told Latino Review this weekend that Doom will indeed be back for the sequel:
Before I hopped on my ride to the airport back to NYC I asked him when does shooting start, Story replies, "August 1st up in Vancouver" And finally I asked Story that towards the end of the film it left wide open that Doom will be back, so will he? "Yes that I can tell you. He will be back in full DOOM, not like we had him in the first film."
UPDATE 3: Marvel's first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet in FANTASTIC FOUR AND THE SILVER SURFER as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

Fast And The Furious 4: Untitled
|
Cast: Vin Diesel (rumored)
Director: N/A
Studio: N/A
Synopsis: They mightn’t have been able to coax him back for the new film – well, not in the capacity the fans would’ve liked them to – but that doesn’t mean Vin Diesel’s petrol sniffing days are beyond him, just yet.
Captain crunch is apparently interested in bringing Dom back for the inevitable fourth “Fast and the Furious” film, reports VinDiesel.Hu.
According to primerahora.com, Diesel turned up at one of Latino singer Don Omar's parties, revealed that he’s returning for “Fast and the Furious 4”, and asked the musician whether he’d like him to contribute to the soundtrack.
Be interesting to see whether this comes off or not. Lucas Black is getting some good buzz in the “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”, so they might just decide to keep him on the franchise for another lap. BUT, it could be that Diesel has already inked a deal for the fourth film, especially if he’s in a position to chase music for the film. Sounds like VD’s production company could be involved.
Diesel was in talks to star in the third film, at one stage, joining original co-star Paul Walker, but the studio ultimately scrapped the idea – assumingly, for financial reasons.
